The belt doesnt seem to be working (no green led blinking). What can cause this?
The basic guideline: make sure that the belt is worn quite tightly and the electrodes are well moistened. With some people, the heart rate belt doesnt recognize the heartbeat well enough. This can happen for example with people who are very overweight. You can try positioning the belt slightly off center (or even upside down on the backside; reverse from the normal set-up); sometimes this works. Heartbeat recognition is problematic with people who have left or right bundle branch block usually the measurement doesnt work at all in these conditions. If the belt doesnt start working, you can return it to Suunto for a replacement.
