Networking sites have the potential for great good as well as harm. It can be a way of keeping in touch with people you may lose sight of and personally I have been able to grow closer to some because of it. Sure-there are dangers, but surely that is acknowledged with any social skills we teach our children! Just as we help them to relate to others in the flesh, so we too have to educate them how to relate to people online. If the only interaction a person has is through the internet then yes, there is a great danger of isolation and vulnerability, but if you combine it with other forms of traditional communication then it also has great capacity for good. He is certainly right regarding the cult of individualism.
