The Apple remote (iPod A/V) has the same look (buttons, symbols) as the Nike + iPod WatchRemote. Is the functionality the same?
The icons used for its functionality are universal. For example, a triangle followed by two vertical lines is known as “Play/Pause.” So the buttons with the same symbols perform the same functions. Nike + iPod WatchRemote has a unique Nike+ functionality that allows you to get voice feedback and hear your PowerSong during a workout. Other iPod nano remotes do not have the same functionality. Nike + iPod WatchRemote also requires the use of the receiver from the Nike + iPod Sport Kit, and currently only works with an iPod nano. Other iPod accessories may or may not work on the iPod nano, and may or may not require the use of an additional receiver. Currently, Nike + iPod WatchRemote is the only remote that works with the receiver.
