The adoption of the community care model proposal sounds pretty certain, with discussion focusing more on how rather than if it will occur. Is this definitely going to happen?

This proposal has been informed by a year-long assessment of how we deliver services in light of community needs and resources, as well as advances in medical technology and the delivery of medical care. MIT Medical’s leadership is actively seeking feedback from individuals and numerous faculty and student groups around MIT to aid in refining the proposal. A second major factor that may affect plans is how the new model works while the current Inpatient Unit continues to stay open for overnight services. We would not end overnight services at MIT Medical until and unless the community care model is running smoothly, with any problems identified and corrected.
