Teachers in Unity Schools are currently on strike, What is the government doing about it?
Thank you. That again is another unfortunate situation. I wonder why people believe that going on strike is the best way to solve our problems forgetting that once they go on strike, it will affect even their own children, their relations and the entire country at large. You will not believe that just two days ago, I engaged the same people in a discussion. I invited them and they came. I didn’t know that as I was talking to them, they were already planning to go on strike. I was talking to the executives and at the end of the day, they said ‘thank you, we are satisfied and that we are going to have our council meeting where we can convey this decision’ and they were happy with my submission. I was therefore surprised that the following day they had gone on strike. Now, what is the cause of their strike? They said they are not sure that Unity Schools have not been earmarked for sale.
