Taking a Bike by Plane or Train?

0

It’s easier than you think to take a bike by plane or train. Some Train Operating Companies have relaxed rules on carrying bikes, and abolished charges. On long-distance routes you have to pre-book your bike and pay ? per journey either at a staffed station , or very much quicker and easier by phoning one of the credit card lines such as Virgin Trains on 0345 222 333 or GNER on 0345 225 225, or interactively over the net from The TrainLine (we like this option). The CTC have a good information sheet for members but you’ll have to join them first. Air operators seem to be much more relaxed about taking bikes, but check with them first.
