System acceptable to the BFA organic Certification?
From the inventor Dean Cameron: Normally no effluent would be acceptable for irrigation of an organic certified crop. My understanding is that this is because effluent could contain contaminants from inputs like nappy disinfectants which contain chlorine bleach or medication such as antibiotics and other inorganic chemicals. If the users were strict about what went into the system however, there is probably no real impediment to using the effluent from a Biolytix System. In some cases the background levels of pesticides and contaminants in irrigation source water from groundwater, streams or dams or the manure imported could contain higher levels than the effluent. Before using Biolytix System effluent to irrigate a certified organic crop however the user should consult the certifying body and get formal approval.
