To be quite honest, I have mixed feelings about this. I really don’t like the idea of the state government being able to just arbitrarily go in and nullify an election in this way. That smacks too much of a dictatorship. On the other hand, there are many places where the politicians are corrupt and/or incompetent and have run their communities into the ground. This problem is compounded by the way the people keep reelecting these people without regard for what they are doing. So, I can see some justification for such a law. So, on the one hand, we give the governor the ability to rule as a dictator or, on the other hand, we allow people to continue to elect people who just keep making their communities’ financial situation worse. What’s the answer? I just don’t know.
