Suggest the control measures of Parthenium?
A. Always prevention is better than cure. Hence uproot the weeds before flowering and burn. Be vigilant to remove any newly emerging seedlings. Spray herbicides like Glyphosate(1-1.5%) for total vegetation control (or) Metribuzin(0.3-0.5%) if grasses are to be saved. Release bio-agent Zygogramma bicolorata in infested areas. Spread self perfetuating competitive plant species like Cassia sericea, Cassia tora, Tagetus erecta and Tephrosia purpurea etc.
