Such and such an instructor criticised GKR karate. Are they right to do so?

GKR Karate is not perfect, and nor is any other style, however we are constantly striving for improvement, and we take the quality of our instruction very seriously. It would be fair to say that some of the major karate organisations in the world, or their practitioners are often dismissive of other major styles (not just GKR) it sadly seems to be the nature of the beast, and it has always been, stretching back hundreds of years. Many martial arts instructors arrogantly assume that theirs is the best style. Most have never trained in, nor really know anything about other styles that they put down. It’s a pity that in an industry that claims to teach respect, so many instructors fail to practice what they preach.
