Your best bet is to knock down your speech into sections. Don’t try to memorize each word. Memorize the key points of that section. Example: “Four score and seven years ago our fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.” Eighty-seven years ago our forefathers started a new nation with the belief that all men were equal. Key words help considerably. Example: “December 7, 1941—a date which will live in infamy—the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.” 12/7/41 date, infamy.
