STRS Ohio can change the 1% of employer contribution going to health care without legislation. Why not just increase this allocation?
Right now, STRS Ohio is collecting 10% from members and 14% of payroll from their employers. These are the maximum amounts allowed by law; that is why we are seeking the ability to collect up to an additional 2.5% from active members and 2.5% from employers through legislation. This money would go specifically to the Health Care Stabilization Fund.
