Store lights can be bright. How will the proposed SuperTarget affect residents view of the stars?
Target’s outdoor lighting fixtures comply with residential area dark-sky ordinances. We use cut-off fixtures that shine light down and reduce the spread of light beyond the property. The majority of the lights are turned off 30 minutes after the store closes, except for a lit pathway to the employee parking area, which remains lit 1-1/2 hours after closing.
