Steven Tyler Quits Aerosmith: What Other Rock Bands Have Had to Change Singers? Monday November 9, 2009#spacer{clear:left}#abc #sidebar{margin-top:1.5em}zSB(3,3) On Friday, Aerosmith guitarist Joe Perry broke the news that longtime frontman Steven Tyler had left the band. “Steven quit as far as I can tell,” Perry told the Las Vegas Sun. “I don’t know anymore than you do about it … I saw online that Steven said that he was going to leave the band. I don’t know for how long, indefinitely or whatever. Other than that, I don’t know.” Perry left open the possibility of someone replacing Tyler on the mic, saying, “we’ll probably find somebody else that will sing in those spots where we need a singer and then we’ll be able to move the Aerosmith up a notch, move the vibe up a notch.” This comment, naturally, will anger fans of the band who can’t imagine anyone other than Tyler singing for Aer
