Stem cells haven cured anything anyway, so why bother?
Actually stem cells have been used to develop many cures that we now take for granted. The next time you hear of someone needing and getting a bone marrow transplant to cure leukemia or some other type of cancer you can thank stem cells. A bone marrow transplant is the replacement of a patient’s bone marrow stem cells with healthy ones from a matching donor. Having said this, these are adult stem cells, not embryonic stem cells. Research with embryonic stem cells is in its infancy, and therapies using them have great promise in curing a variety of diseases and afflictions.
