Static on phone land line–anyway to repair it myself?

If static is only inside your house, then there are only a couple probabilities: 1 – Loose connection/s…. inspect all junctions and terminal connections for loose or poor connections. Poor connections is main reason for static and noise on lines inside the house. The fact that you do not get noise at demarcation jack but everywhere else in house indicates that the problem is somewhere between the demarcation (or at the demarcation junctions) and your other junctions. 2 – Are you using cordless phones? Test with a good corded phone. This will eliminate any questions regarding RFI and interference noise over RF frequencies.
