Staff already receive an award for working at SDSU for 10 years and then for each 5 years beyond that. How are the Presidential Staff Excellence Awards different than those awards?
A3. The Presidential Staff Excellence Awards are not a length of service award. Any permanent, full-time staff in good standing with the university are eligible to receive a Presidential Staff Excellence Award no matter how long they have been employed by the university. The Presidential Staff Excellence Awards are designed to recognize those staff who significantly contribute to the university through their dedication and support of others. The Presidential Staff Excellence Awards recognize and reward high achievement which is why they carry with it not only a plaque of recognition but an honorarium.
