Spotting after 10 years using a Mirena, why?
I started spotting after almost 10 years of taking Dianette. I stopped taking it for a few months for a break and had heavy long (14 day) periods and went back to it. I tried a couple of times but the spotting increased. I’m now spotting on day 9 of the pill pack through to the next pack, or sometimes all month. The doctor has tried Dianette, Cilest and now Loestrin to no affect. I have had a scan, smear and thyroid test all normal. I am a newly wed and devastated by this. I was not with anyone prior to getting married, when the problem started. Is there any hope?
