Spiritually speaking, is circumcision wilful abuse and mutilation?
I’m wondering where you got your study information… I just happened to be reading about this because I am pregnant with my first, a boy, and I have to decide whether to have him circumcised or not (I’m not Jewish). From my readings, which I don’t have sources for at this moment… circumcision does not decrease or increase male sexual pleasure, and is actually cleaner and not as susceptible to infection (although as long as those who are not circumcised clean correctly they should not have infections either). I imagine that those who are circumcised as children or adults would feel a great amount of pain, and could have psychological distress in their decision. That is why it is performed on babies, because although it causes them pain at the moment, they have no memory of it.
