Spiritually Healing: What can someone do to lower high iron levels in blood? How many times should I donate?
That isn’t possible. The average human body has 5 liters of blood, which is about 10 pints. Women, on average, how slightly less (usually 8-10 pints, depending on weight and height). Unless, “pts” didn’t mean pints, what you’re asking just isn’t possible, even if your blood vessels were completed filled with pure iron. If you truly do have elevated iron levels, donating blood can only do a little bit. Typically, a patient with this would have blood removed once or twice a week until the iron was down to normal levels. Blood banks usually only permit a donor to donate one unit about four times a year. If your doctor diagnosed you with an iron overload (and you do need two blood tests to confirm the diagnosis–symptoms alone won’t cut it), he or she would’ve told you this.
