Speed Camera detectors for use in England -can you recommend one?
Check the recent report on the latest GPS units some of the better quallity ones have radar detectors in them, but remember it can only be detected if it is switched on ,if you are travelling fast they may only switch it on as you appear in the distance,in which case you are done for.If it is being used regularly every two or three minutes then you have a good chance of detecting it.Normally they wait in hiding in Wales and especially on Anglesey, which is making it unpopular now. They hide behind hedges and walls etc.On the main arterials they stand at the side just up the road from a curve or bend and get you as soon as you poke your nose onto the straight. There is no substitute for driving experience and your eyes.I always have a chat to the truckers when i stop and the CB is a far better tool than a radar detector, you get a rolling news update.
