Speech Recognition Software – Does it Really Work?
I tried working with Microsoft’s speech recognition software that converts speech to text hoping it’d make half my work easier, but unfortunately, the only text that matched the speech was ‘you are an idiot’. I wonder if my diction is awful, or is it the damn machine. Plus, Microsoft Sam is an infinite pain. I agree, this sort of technology is still in the incubation stage, but it proves that human expertise is non-pareil. A machine and a human must never be compared, but at the moment, I simply can’t help it: even the worst of speakers would do a better job than Microsoft Sam. When I was working with the speech recognition software last evening, I had reached a point when I wanted to bang the machine for having a software that inherently didn’t work.
