Three snakes are almost identical in size. The reticulated python, the Burmese python, and the Yellow Anaconda. Of the three the burmese and reticulated tend to be longer. As far as size the Anaconda is slightly shorter but it is also heavier. Thus it often holds the title as the ‘worlds largest snake’, but the difference is negligible. The Burmese python as the heaviest snake in the world should not be counted since it is captive and therefore fed often, and grew abnormally large and fast. Besides that is an individual snake and we are talking species. Also I have known zoos to falsify there information as to their records. Sorry I have seen this several times actually so unless an outside source such as Guiness has recognized it I am skeptical (of course they may have I have not looked). All three snakes have been known to kill humans but because large snakes only feed on large meals once every few months those incidents are rare.
