I am fascinated by and love all Spanish accents. Since I first learnt Spanish from Spain, I am very much at home with most Iberian accents – although I’m afraid that people with strong “gallego” accents make me feel a little uncomfortable, especially when they prefix everything they say with “Oische, Grajan” (Grajan is my name to my Spanish friends, by the way). But I love them all – my daughter-in-law’s sing-song Peruvian, the intense accent of Buenos Aires, the “lazy” “hot-potato in the mouth” speech of Caracas, they are all music in my ears.
