Spammunize has been filtering my email for some months, but every so often I receive batches of SPAM. Why?

A. Email is sent to domains based on a DNS entry known as the MX record. Most servers will look that record up in order to know where to send the email. Most SPAM these days is sent by Trojan software on a large number of compromised PCs, known as “botnets”. For the sake of speed, sometimes these won’t use the MX record, but will have access to a fixed list somewhere. Those lists are often out-of-date, and may not reflect your current MX record.
