Generally a 1/8″ thick single pane of glass has an STC (Sound Transmission Class) rating of 23. Renewal by Andersen?s insulated glass unit which consists of 2 3/32″ thick panes of glass with _” spacer has a STC rating of 32. To give you something to compare STC ratings to, a 2×4 stud in a wall has an STC rating of 40. Just by upgrading your windows from single pane to dual pane windows you will automatically knock out much outside noise.
