Sounds like you’ve run into the infamous Netscape 4.x JavaScript bug. Over time, we’ve learned there is a serious flaw in the Netscape 4.x JavaScript implementation that causes the browser to lock up, crash, or stop responding to clicks on hyperlinks. At this point, we highly recommend all users of Netscape 4.x to upgrade to a newer browser, as standards on the Web have left this poor dinosaur far behind. We here at GPF highly recommend Firefox, although there are plenty of other great alternatives.
