Sometimes labels overlap each other. What is the cause and can I change settings to correct it?
There are several cases when this may occur, 1. When the label expression contains stacked text (multiple lines), only the first line will be considered in the conflict detection. 2. When using a text symbol background (callout), the background shapes will not be accurately considered in the conflict detection. 3. When using the advanced labeling option, after converting labels to annotation and then turning labels back on again. To avoid this, make sure that the Place Overlapping labels option on the Conflict Detection Rules dialog box is unchecked for each label class.
