Someone told me that I shouldn soften the water to my kitchen faucet or ice maker. What faucets should be left untreated by a water softener?

Normally your outside faucets (hosebibbs) should not be softened. Our founder, does not use soft water for his drinking water filter or his ice maker filter. He does use softened water at his kitchen sink. It really depends on your existing water quality.
