When the recruiters came to Albany, they declared me super-qualified and told me to call them whenever I had any questions. So I did. I was possibly a pain…but not nearly as much of a pain as I was to my recruiter before boot camp. ———————————————— How long do I have to be on station before I can apply to MSG duty? Contrary to popular belief MSG Bn has accepted Marines with much less than one year on station. Any requirement regarding time on station can be waived. However, MOS monitors usually prefer Marines to be on station for at least one year prior to going to MSG duty. If you are short of one year on station, proceed to complete and submit your package. By the time you receive orders and report to MSG School, you will most likely have one year on station. Aside from the MSG Battalion and your MOS monitor, nobody can deny your request for orders to MSG Bn.
