Even though the required packages have been installed on the Management Server, CSM still needs all required packages in RPM format. Be sure to follow the steps in the Planning and Installation Guide to obtain all RPMs and install them in the appropriate directory. Q: What should I do if I see this error when running installms: sh: -c: line 1: syntax error near unexpected token ‘(‘ sh: -c: line 1: ‘chmod 0440 /tftpboot/ES4524C_17(V1.1.0.2).bix 2>&1’ installms: Exit code 2 from command: chmod 0440 /tftpboot/ES4524C_17(V1.1.0.2).bix 2>&1 A: This happens when SMC firmware updates are placed in the /tftpboot directory to update the SMC 8624T switches. The filenames have parentheses in them, which causes problems in installms. To fix this, just rename the SMC files and remove the parentheses. Then rerun installms.
