Some people are saying the centre is elitist and aimed mainly at professional sportsmen and women. What about the local community?
As the best leisure centre of its kind in the region and one of the country’s leading centres of aquatic excellence, the Life Centre will attract some of the South West’s leading sportsmen and women. However, it has been designed as a hub of community activity which caters for local residents of all ages and abilities. One of the main aims of the Life Centre is to increase the number of local people taking part in regular physical activity and we will be looking to provide a varied and affordable programme of activities which will offer something for everyone.
