Some patterns include pairs of moving bars. What are they?
AVIA uses animation to make some normally difficult to see features in test patterns more visible. With older, fixed patterns, it was sometimes difficult to tell if things were actually visible or an optical illusion. The addition of motion makes features more obvious. The moving “Black Bars” in black backgrounds are used in setting black level. The “White Bars” in white backgrounds are used in checking displays for white level clipping.
