Some of HEC master programs are called “MSc” while others are called “MS”. What is the difference between the two?
MS and MSc are two types of master programs accredited by the French “Grandes Ecoles”. Historically, all HEC master programs taught in French were MS while all HEC master programs taught in English were MSc. Nowdays however, some MS programs such as the HEC MS Finance have switched to English as language of instruction but have retained their name. The main implication for candidates is that candidates with only 3 years of education after high school are not eligible for a MS while candidates with only a degree from a French institution are not eligible for a MSc.
