Socialism, why do people think that it is a good idea?
Not necessarily. Most of our emergency services are already socialist, and healthcare probably should be, so that children aren’t lacking a doctor’s care everytime their fathers employer has to make cutbacks. Socialized fire departments haven’t brought about the end of a Free Market economy, and neither has our socialized military. Banking on the other hand shouldn’t be socialized- the only financial defense is diversity of investment, which is lost when the same entity runs all the banks. If they all follow the same orders, they all fall to the same weaknesses, at the same time. Like most good ideas, the free market and socialism are only good when applied properly. Miniskirts are a great idea too, but only on the right girl.
