So, Whats new in Fable III?
Building upon the core mechanics of previous Fable games, Fable III takes some of the series’ core concepts and evolves them, aswell as introducing some revolutionary new ideas. Such features include: Run the world – Upon becoming ruler, the player has access to a 3D map screen, where you can view and buy property, alter tax rates, create/abolish laws, and a variety of other features. Of course, these all have consequences… Touch – Allows your hero to reach out and touch other characters, in a dynamic context, for example comforting a scared child, or dragging a vagrant to a workhouse. This improvement to the expression system will mean a deeper interaction with NPCs than simply doing a jig or dutch-ovening a potential partner. Sanctuary – Rather than littered 2D ‘GUI’ screens, the way you interact with things such as your stats and inventory is via the ‘sanctuary’, a 3D environment where Jasper, your butler (voiced by John Cleese) hangs out.
