size wire and circut breaker for attic 116v. attic fan

If you are running from a standard breaker box, it will be more economical to use 14 gauge wire and a 15 amp breaker than to buy the next size smaller( the miracles of supply and demand). That is assuming that the attic fan is less than a 15 amp draw.  I can’t imagine a monster that would draw more than that going in an attic. I would turn the attic light on, if you have one, find out what circuit breaker it is on, and, if it’s one that is not used much, draw a circuit from that. Most fans only drwaw a couple of amps. You shouldn’t need a dedicated circuit. If you do have that monster that I can’t imagine, then ignore me and continue your plans.

Amp draw between 15 and 20 amps will take 12 gauge wire and a 20 amp breaker.
