Travis is writing NewOS. NewOS is a separate and distinct project from Haiku. The kernel team is assisting Travis where possible. Much functionality is common between NewOS and what will be the final Haiku kernel. The Haiku kernel team has forked the NewOS code to move in more Haiku-specific directions. Travis is not get directly involved in this. Being an ex-Be Inc. engineer, Travis has sensitive knowledge of the BeOS source code. Working directly on Haiku would likely be pushing his NDA too far. Still, he offers support and suggestions to the kernel team as best as possible. Of course, the same NDA issues apply to any former Be Inc. engineers/employees.
