Since the halyard is removed after the sail is hoisted, how is luff tension achieved/maintained/adjusted?

Luff tension is achieved by lashing the tack of the sail to the bail on the Furling Drum. We recommend using a small piece of Spectra although any line will work to achieve the desired luff tension on your headsail. This system requires far less tension than other furlers due to the fixed distance between the head and the tack. Excess tension is not required to prevent slack when sailing to weather.
