Since it is a programme/scheme about helping others, what qualities should one have in order to be a mentor? What do mentors gain from mentoring eventually?
Answers to those would be simply “passion” and “willingness”. Passion in doing good to and with others, and willingness to share are more than anything that is required. Bit by bit from every each of the mentors can actually help to make a difference to other souls, even to the effort of reducing the rate of school dropouts and delinquencies. All the good wills and hard works being committed will eventually be paid off by personal satisfaction and a certificate of participation upon completion of the programme. Mentors who have serve more than 2 years will also receive a Special Achievement Award from Kreta Ayer CC Youth Group.
