Since alignment doesn exist in LoZ, what moral rating system is used instead to differentiate “good” characters from “evil” ones?

The Focus system, Light, Shadow, and Dark, was created to replace alignment but allow more flexibility as far as character concept goes. “Light” is equivalent to good, “shadow” to neutral, and “dark” to evil. Most of the monsters have no focus.
