Silkscreen or offset printing?

0

Deciding which type of printing to use on your disc label depends on the type artwork design you plan to use. Offset printing is often used to print artwork that have lots of color gradients and shades such as photos and images of people. Silkscreen is best for artwork that have mostly solid colors and have no gradients. Very fine detail, especially photographic images, may not reproduce well using silk screening. For offset printing, large areas of solid color may result in “banding” or “ghosting,” in which case silkscreen is recommended. Gradient settings lower than 15% may not print clearly. Dark tones above 85% tend to become solid due to dot gain. Depending on your design, you can have us help you determine the printing method that will give you the best results.
