Silkie chickens… how long for chicks to hatch once eggs are layed?

0

All chickens (This means your Silkie) lay eggs and once they are incubated they take about 3 weeks (21 days) to finally hatch out of their shell. Once you get an egg, take it from the chicken and put it in an incubator set at 90-95 degrees farenheit. Make sure you have a heated lamp to put the chicks in once they are born. Then put them in a box lined with newspaper. Cover the box with a blanket at all times to keep the heat inside the box. Make sure you have a waterer and a feeder. I suggest chicken starter food for your baby chicks which the food looks like flour. Do not get give them broken up corn until they are about 1 month old or a little less. And please make sure you get a waterer that they will not fall in and drown.
