Shuffle 2 packs of cards, deal them all between 2 people, who then play Snap, looking for a match for a named card, say the 2 aces of clubs. What is the probability of a match coming up in any one game?

Maybe I don’t understand the game. If two packs of cards are dealt to either player, then any named card appears twice and is held by one or both of the players. The probability is 1 = 100%. If the question is, what’s the probability that one player will hold both of the same card: She’s got a 50:50 chance of getting the first, and a 50:50 chance of getting the second as well. So the probability of holding both is 1/2 * 1/2 = 1/4 = 25%. If the question is, what’s the probability that either player will hold both of the same card: Whoever has the first card has a 50:50 chance of getting the matching card, so the probability is 1/2 = 50%.
