Yet they are still listened to. The story of the refused bet doesn’t even get to your ears, and you’ve thought about it yourself. And I would say that this may be the world we live in but that doesn’t mean we should live with it. Even if I cannot change the world, that is no reason not to try as hard as you can. Even if you fail, the Sun will die, the universe will exhaust itself in the heat death of inevitability rendering anything we do ultimately pointless. And in an existence where the end result is pointless, we have two choices: a) give up and die b) don’t accept that pointlessness doesn’t mean you shouldn’t do it I go for (b). I may not change things. I may not make a difference. But the pointlessness of trying doesn’t mean I will give up.
