No they should not be closed down. How do most people learn about the animals they will never set eyes on in there life? Would you be inclined to support anti-poaching laws/organizations if you had never seen and elephant, a rhino, or even an animal from your own country that is endangered? Speaking of…many animals in our world only exist in zoos and are no longer found in the wild – some tigers, some rhinos (I think), grey wolves, etc. Zoos also house exotic and endangered plants and insects, as well. The wolrd-famous San Diego Zoo being one of many. What qualifies as a zoo, anyway? Many museums house live exhibits – bees and other insects and plants and reptiles. Visitor centers and wildlife rehabilitation centers give tours and exhibit their animals for educational purposes, also. Rabbits are dear to my heart. One might think they, well, “breed like rabbits”, but the American Livestock Breeds Conservancy teamed up with the American Rabbit Breeders Association just last year in an
