Should women be allowed in combat on the frontline?

0

Women are already on the front lines. The Marines have the Lioness program (http://northshorejournal.org/marine-lion… This program has females going out with males on patrols. They are there to help with searching Muslim women because it is not acceptable for a male to search a female Muslim. They go wherever the patrol goes. If the patrol comes under fire they come under fire. If the patrol stays out overnight, they stay out over night. They have austere conditions and do not have running water. The women in the program have volunteered for it. While they may not be considered infantry, they have weapons and are expected to hold their own if the unit comes under attack. The army has female medics who sometimes go out on patrols with MP’s. They do much the same as the Marine Lionesses. In fact, one female medic received a silver star for her actions in Afghanistan.
