Should WNBA players get payed more?
The whole reason why WNBA players make significantly less money is because the WNBA makes significantly less money. Nobody really wants to watch the WNBA because the product is so much less exciting than the NBA and even Mens’ NCAA Basketball. Having a worse product means that fewer people will dish out money for it. This is the big reason why the WNBA needs the NBA to help cover their operation costs. It is sad that people don’t pay attention to it, but the even sadder truth is that it is just much worse to watch than the mens’ game. We know they work just as hard as the NBA players, but first and foremost professional sports is a business. Business doesn’t care about how hard you work to get the money; the only thing that matters is the quality of the product you will offer to your target market of consumers in exchange for their money. From a business standpoint womens’ basketball will never bring in the cash or popularity of the mens’ game simply because women are just biologically
