Should we Welsh, Irish and Scots be fed up listening to people refer to Great Britain as England?

Should Latin Americans get fed up listening to people refer to USA as America? How can we educate the World and let them know that America is not the USA alone? ============ Seriously, many people (Benjamin Franklin chief among them) though that USA was a singularly unpoetic and ugly name for a country. They much preferred the name Columbia (hence Washington, District of Columbia). However, columbia is prettier, but not very accurate since Christopher Columbus never set foot in British North America. The new nation co-opted the denonym, American, much to the annoyance of Latin Americans. ——— It does seem a shame that people have shortened the name to UK instead of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The original names are a lot better. ——— Bohemia and Moravia is so much better than Czech Republic.

Yeah, the Welsh, Scottish and Irish should be fed up listening to people referring to Great Britain as England, and the English should be fed up listening to people referring to Great Britain as England as well. I don’t think there is much that we can do. Other countries have to educate their own people.

we should be fed up your right but northern ireland is part of the UNITED KINGDOM of Great Britain and Northern Ireland and we all live under the Union Flag (only called a jack if displayed on a ship) we should be proud of our british heritage and our flag as long as we know which of the british nationalities we are it shouldn’t make a difference UNITED WE STAND!

Northern Ireland is part of the UK but not part of Great Britain. The English are don’t like losing their national identity either. Perhaps we should get a name that we can all agree on, something like the Britannic people.
