On pre-6.5 MPE/iX (SYSDIAG/Sherlock) systems, the diagnostics expect files to be in traditional MPE format; in the case of the FWSCSI 3944 version firmware download file, this would be an 80B FA file. On MPE/iX 6.5 and later (CSTM/MESA) systems, there are two types of diagnostics: • Diagnostics ported from the SYSDIAG/Sherlock environment, with a wrapper so they can run under the CSTM/MESA environment • Diagnostics native to the CSTM/MESA environment.
